Nicholas Roukes NICHOLAS ROUKES,
an art educator for over 40 years, was born and raised in San Jose, California and is a graduate of California State University (Fresno), and Stanford University. He is an author, artist, teacher and freelance curator of art exhibitions, many of which center on various aspects of visual humor. Among recent exhibitions he has conceptualized, juried , curated or counseled are What’s so Funny? Marsh Gallery, Richmond, Virginia; Artful Jesters, The Painting Center, New York City, (also at the Brattleboro Museum, Brattleboro, Vermont), Artful Jesters, Pence Gallery, Davis, Ca. 2007, and Westward Ha! — Visual Wit in the Wild West, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
